News - or not - on 2006 Aprilia diecast release

One thing I found out almost by accident through random bits of web searching is that there is a 1/10th scale diecast model of Alvaro's 2006 125cc Aprilia bike (or at least that there is going to be one) - made by a manufacturer called Guiloy.
The website I found it on had it listed for a "March 2007" release under the title "Aprilia RS 125 c.c. A Bautista 2006", and I've certainly not seen it showing anywhere - nor seen any turning up on eBay either.
I got in touch with Modelenium - a UK distributor - to try and find out what's going on with it; they say that after speaking to the importers that there's still no revised date, so it's kind of difficult to know when to expect it really...
Purely for info, the page covering the model is here...

the thing with no alvaro merchandise available really gets pathetic. i mean, he's world champion for god's sake! just look how much shirts and other stuff the jlo-front already put out this year and what's there for alvaro? nothing. he's been world champ in 2006 just as jlo - different class, same level. so i think it's truly sad that there isn't more. maybe his managment is just incredibly lazy and slow, who knows. but i'd love to get my hands on some fresh merch.
well, maybe i'll get at least a cap this weekend. ;)

You may be right - it may be management... his website for instance isn't anywhere near as clever or cool as Lorenzo's (though of course it has the bonus that Alvaro is fab and Lorenzo is a git!) - maybe it is the same with merchandise, that they aren't really focusing on it.
Great shame as I would certainly want plenty :)
He should have decent merchandise and an international official website...

hey again. i'm just on my way to the sachsenring... ;)

you're absolutely right about his website. as much as i love the sheer amount of information, various stuff and pictures (he has by far the largest pic section i've seen on any rider site!), the design is really not that great. it's also pretty old already, nothing really has changed throughout the years (besides the colour). i think someone from his fanclub does the design of the site, so that may be the problem here. maybe you could get your grip on the site and change it a bit. ;)
no really, all the riders from the motogp class have some really cool intros or such on their websites or at least some original pics on it. how many photoshoots have there been with alvaro already? i guess you can count them on one hand. just compare it with dovi for example or jlo.
and of course the language is also a bit of a "problem", because not everyone speaks spanish.
so, as much as i dislike jlo, at least his management does a really good job and sells him good (maybe that's the reason why he thinks he's the greatest? *lol*)
