Valencia Photo Album - Part One

A Wheelie Bad End To The Race!

Okay - not *that* bad; it at least happened after the chequered flag, but - unlike Assen - the last time when Alvaro disappeared under the arse of his own bike, when I was able to justly blame Hiro - this time I can't really point the finger anywhere but at the Batster himself. Embarrassed giggles in the post-race press conference, but possibly not exactly the same reaction from Mr Aspar himself...?

Pic Of The GP: Catalunya

Although this may only be pic of the day till someone posts up a shot of Sideshow Bob covered in gravel, of course... ;-)

Catalunya GP - Pics Of The Day; Friday

Pics Of The Day: Italian GP, Mugello, Friday

Pics Of The Day: French GP, Le Mans, Friday

Pics Of The Day: Japanese GP, 250cc, Motegi

I've picked the top shot just because from an arty-farty design point of view I think it's a great shot - nothing more, nothing less. The others are all just to show the deserved elation on our happy little chappy... :-)

Alvaro Bautista Mosaic Poster (A1 Size)

In a determined effort to put my Alvaro-related picture library (or "The Stash" as it is known in these parts...) to some good use, I've made one of those cool Mosaic posters, where you create a single (or apparently single) large image out of a vast quantity of smaller images.
In my initial experiments I found that shots in the box and ones that involved too much general detail didn't really work out and that a cleaner, simpler image with a dulled-off background and a distinct foreground image worked out best by far.
So the result is an image of Alvaro leaning it in - from one of the Aspar Team's excellent high resolution race images - made up of some 7,396 tiles comprising 2,685 individual pictures from Alvaro's entire career, Talavera de la Reina, and other random Bati-related pics such as helmets on eBay etc!
The result, as shown above, is now available as a huuuuuuuuuuuuge high-resolution file that will gladly print out at A1 size (and probably even A0) and is a special Christmas prezzie for all the members of the BatiFans.com Avaro Bautista Fan Forum and which you can get by clicking here... Enjoy :-)

At Least One Thing Was A Piece Of Cake This Weekend...

Alvaro of course celebrated his 100th Grand Prix start this weekend.

So here he is with Gino Borsoi, Armando Guerrero and Jorge Martinez.

And a whopping great cake.

Pic Of The GP: Australia

I posted on the forum at the time - "Did anybody else just see that????"

Thankfully at least one photographer did...

Great shot.

Pic Of The Day: The Wheelie

Elation? Relief? Who knows - but Bati's slow-down lap wheelie was a sight for sore eyes... Let's hope there's good reason for a few more before the season's out... :)

Here's a small selection of my photos from the British GP weekend (for a much fuller set, join up at BatiFans.com and go check out the "Members Only" area)...
Here though, we have Alvaro's scooter in the paddock (where I met him and was able to get him to sign a copy of his photo-biography and a printout of the BatiFans.com website, and also a couple of shots of him during Friday afternoon's session, taking on the Melbourne Hairpin...
