Alvaro Takes "Sensible" Third Behind Complete Tool

The quotes aren't in from Alvaro and the team yet, but I'm guessing there'll be some guarded hostility in them somewhere, following a pretty sure-looking first place being crapped on by Sideshow Bob's inept and frankly dangerous riding style. There's 'aggressive' and there's 'hard' (both of which are fine) - but there comes a point where "f***ing stupid" is one of the few way left to adequately describe it.
Simoncelli himself confessed to making "a mistake" when his ludicrously optimistic move (made impossible by the atrocious wet conditions) predictably failed and he forced Alvaro way off into the gravel.
That they both made it back up to the rear of eventual winner Pasini was amazing.
That Alvaro didn't deck Simoncelli in the pitlane was a bloody miracle.
(In fact he seemed remarkably composed and adult about the whole thing, which makes him a far better person than me!)

Bati had pulled in Sideshow's initial 9 second lead and got a great pass on him, but it was the oaf trying to pass back in his own trademark RECKLESS way that caused the trouble.
At least - following some frantic "Calm Down!" gestures from the pitwall, and a worrying moment when Bati nearly came loose, he decided to eventually settle for third and a continued lead in the Championship.
An investigation into the incident left it as just a 'racing incident' - ensuring that once again Simoncelli just carries on, feeling that absolutely anything goes.
I'll continue to admire the 'hardest' of racers, but I can never admire a complete tool like Simoncelli. He's always involved in some incident or other. And it's not because he's hard; it's because he's shit. And he's always sorry. Apparently.
And because, despite all of this he never seems to learn a thing, he is also a tragic accident waiting to happen... Probably to someone else sadly.

Is it for certain that there will be no punishment again? Because that would be a crying shame.

This guy is a bloody idiot and he doesn't even seem to understand that he's a danger to everyone. Sadly I see it just like you and think that something really bad has to happen first before race direction ever does anything about that moron. And this will probably involve injury of someone else. You would have thought that the huge crash of Barbera last year would have been one of those moments, but no. They're apparently really waiting for the funeral of someone before they finally step into action. What a fucking shitwit. This idiot is neither a real racer nor a champion. If you have to kick out your competition to be ahead, you don't deserve to win.

I'm again impressed by Bati's maturity in handling the situation and being so professional about it. He also rode one hell of a race, by far his best wet race ever and I'm deeply impressed with that. He's been the fastest rider by a mile for most of the race and it's a crying shame that he wasn't rightfully awarded with the win for that. But respect to Pasini as well, the last lap was pretty intense and he also rose highly in my view for denying that dumbfuck a completely undeserved win.
